By far the biggest art project of 2016 was the Floating Piers by Christo and Jeanne Claude. I’m taking a look back at one of the biggest moments in art which was showed for sixteen days at Lago de Iseo in Italy. Like all their projects this was absolutely free and open to all the public. “There were no tickets, no openings, no reservations and no owners. The Floating Piers were an extension of the street and belonged to everyone”, said Christo.
The past Monday 13th of February Christo was at the Taschen store in Berlin to sign himself his new books about the Floating Piers. If you don’t have a chance to see his art live I definitely recommend to enjoy more of his art is taking a deeper look into the process of creation by checking out the art books around the art pieces published by the Taschen publishing house.
I can only say this was a once in a lifetime experience thanks to my dear husband who took me and a friend to live this incredible moment in history. We literally felt like walking on water.
